The material choice carries deep symbolic resonance, wood representing across cultures the fundamental connection between humanity and forest, between constructed dwelling and living organism, the visible grain patterns serving as indexical traces of biological time measured in annual growth rings now preserved within architectural form. The vertical orientation of the panels evokes primordial associations with sacred groves, forest cathedrals, and the aspirational upward gesture that characterizes spiritual architecture across traditions, the varying heights creating a mountainous topography that suggests pilgrimage landscapes and threshold experiences. The warm chromatic range operates semiotically as signifier of welcome, safety, and organic authenticity, countering associations of cold institutional exhibition spaces with qualities of domestic warmth and natural shelter.
