Vilius Dringelis's Book Design operates as a sophisticated symbolic system where chromatic choices, material selections, and compositional strategies encode meaning about the relationship between art and collective human experience. The vermillion red typography functions as a beacon of vitality and passion against the contemplative silver-gray field, suggesting that art represents the animating fire within cooler intellectual or technological frameworks. The diagonal orientation of letterforms traditionally signals dynamism, progress, and forward movement, positioning the concept of "Art and Us" as an active, evolving relationship rather than static category. The organic white forms underlying the typography evoke natural phenomena, perhaps cellular structures, mineral crystallization, or foam patterns, encoding themes of growth, natural beauty, and the fundamental patterns underlying both artistic creation and biological existence. The halftone dot patterns reference print heritage and mechanical reproduction, creating dialogue between handmade organic expression and systematic technological processes. The ampersand symbol assumes central compositional position, functioning as the crucial connector between "Art" and "Us," suggesting that the relationship between aesthetic experience and human community constitutes the essential subject. The metallic silver staging environment extends symbolism beyond the object itself, creating reflective surfaces that mirror and multiply, perhaps encoding ideas about how art reflects and shapes its cultural context. The interplay between matte and glossy surfaces, between textured patterns and smooth typography, establishes material semiotics where different surface qualities represent different modes of experience and understanding converging within unified aesthetic statement.
Lewben Art Foundation has published a book of selected works of foundation. The art album consists of two parts: the main one with visualizations and a booklet with information in the pocket. The book creates an impression of the artist sketchbook, therefore, each page is illustrated with original textures and used a stitching technology. To reveal the topic were used a transparent PVC cover and various transparent and rough papers for documentation and markers. As in the sketchbook, the book is rich in various technical principles - foiling, offset printing and silk-screen printing.
