Alex Kovachev's residential interior operates as a sophisticated spatial narrative encoding concepts of refuge, abundance, and the harmonious integration of natural and crafted elements within domestic sanctuary. The chandelier of suspended glass teardrops may evoke associations with water in its various transformative states, suggesting rain, melting ice, or morning dew, forms that carry archetypal resonance with purification, renewal, and the cyclical patterns of mountain environments. The bilateral symmetry organizing the seating arrangement around the central hearth draws upon ancient associations of fire as the gathering point of human community, the primal source of warmth, light, and social cohesion that has anchored dwelling spaces across cultures and centuries. Wood as the dominant material vocabulary carries symbolic weight as the embodiment of forest, of organic growth, of the transformation of living nature into sheltering architecture, connecting inhabitants to the landscape beyond the walls. The tripartite organization of the media wall, with its central void flanked by populated shelves, echoes architectural traditions of altar and tabernacle arrangements, positioning the fireplace as a secular sacred center around which domestic rituals of gathering and relaxation unfold. The orchid and branch-form metalwork on the dining table introduces organic asymmetry that tempers the overall formal symmetry, suggesting that within ordered environments, natural vitality continues to assert its irregular beauty. The interplay of reflective surfaces, the glass droplets, the metallic goblets, and the polished wood, creates a visual economy of light exchange that could symbolize the interconnection of elements within a harmoniously conceived environment where illumination becomes a shared resource distributed throughout the gathering space.
The project approach combines effective design and impeccable functionality. Both floors and the spa area have all the characteristic elements of a mountain chalet, but at the same time luxury and timeless elegance. The logic of the individual areas is determined by the idea of the house to be a place to gather friends and guests, for relaxation and pleasure. The beautiful thread of the history of the Mountain Chalet, which dates back to the owner's childhood, spent under the wooden veranda of his grandfather's house, is strong enough to become the driving force of the project.
