The forest green chromatic foundation of SHAN MAI FOOD's Underforest: Select Brand Identity operates as primary symbolic carrier, encoding meanings of growth, renewal, sustainability, and the fertile abundance of woodland ecosystems, while simultaneously accessing deeper archetypal associations with sanctuary, mystery, and the generative darkness from which life emerges. The triangular logomark functions as polysemous symbol, readable simultaneously as mountain peak suggesting aspiration and permanence, as simplified tree form evoking forest canopy, and as upward-pointing arrow implying growth and positive trajectory, with the overlapping transparent elements creating visual dialogue between individual components and collective whole that mirrors forest ecosystem interdependence. The golden accents distributed throughout access solar symbolism and associations with honey, harvest, and the transformative warmth that enables growth, while their metallic quality suggests preciousness and careful cultivation of valuable resources. The botanical illustrations participate in rich traditions of natural history documentation where precise observation becomes act of reverence, positioning the brand within lineages of scientific curiosity and respectful engagement with natural world. The bee illustration carries profound symbolic weight across multiple cultural traditions, representing industriousness, community cooperation, and the essential pollination relationships that sustain ecosystems and agricultural abundance. The mushroom imagery accesses liminal symbolic territory, as fungi occupy threshold positions between decay and regeneration, death and nourishment, visible fruiting body and invisible mycelial network, suggesting brand philosophy that honors hidden productive relationships beneath surface appearances. The orchid, historically associated with refinement, rarity, and patient cultivation, elevates product positioning toward connoisseurship and discerning appreciation. The vertical format itself encodes aspiration and growth, while the forest-to-clearing progression from dark green panel to light cream panel may be read as journey from wilderness depth toward cultivated productivity, suggesting harmonious mediation between wild nature and human stewardship that defines sustainable forestry practice.
The project, in hand with the government, built the leading brand of "Underforest: Select" for the under-forest economy. Through image integration and packaging specification, designers reduce material costs without compromising quality, strengthen the brand identity and raise the values for their products. The branding colors are forest-green and matte gold. Forest-green portrays the abundant natural resources in the woods, and the matte gold represents the economic potential of the under-forest economy.
