Golden A' Design Award Winner 2022
The symbolic vocabulary operating within this lighting design draws upon deep associations between light and transcendence, the continuous luminous line functioning as a visual metaphor for infinity, flow, and unbroken connection that the design name explicitly invokes. The catenary curve itself carries mathematical significance, representing the natural solution to gravitational forces and thus embodying principles of equilibrium, efficiency, and organic truth, qualities traditionally associated with classical ideals of beauty emerging from natural law. The pairing of two identical loops establishes themes of duality, reflection, and relationship, perhaps suggesting dialogue, partnership, or the mirroring principle found in numerous wisdom traditions. The chromatic opposition between the pure white light and the black supporting structure activates fundamental symbolic polarities of illumination and void, presence and absence, the visible and the infrastructural, while the neutral gray environment suggests a liminal space of possibility, neither fully one state nor another. The corner location positions the installation at an architectural threshold, a meeting point of planes that carries traditional associations with transition, protection, and spatial definition. The continuous nature of the illumination, without visible beginning or end within the tubular form, reinforces archetypal associations with eternity, the circle, and cyclical renewal, even as the linear format suggests journey, passage, and temporal extension. The deliberate restraint of the color palette communicates values of sophistication, clarity, and essential truth stripped of ornamental distraction, aligning with minimalist philosophical traditions that locate meaning in reduction and purity of form. The gentle gravitational curves introduce organic warmth into geometric rigor, balancing rational structure with natural grace.
Cylindrical track luminaire for Infinity system. The luminaire produces light with its whole surface, 360 degrees beam angle. Flexible neon allows to make the luminaire in any shape you want and create unique lighting compositions and art objects. 1,6 or 5 m length. The luminaire is easy to install in the track. Patented Dali Click mechanical fixation adapter guarantees that the luminaire will not fall out. Low-voltage ensures complete electrical safety. Flexible neon used in all Freelight series luminaires is odorless, does not exude any harmful chemicals and has complete ecological safety.
