Flava Plywood and Veneer Showroom

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2023

The spatial language of this showroom operates as an extended meditation on material transformation and the dialogue between natural substance and geometric abstraction, with the faceted ceiling installation functioning as the primary symbolic carrier within a carefully orchestrated environment. The angular timber forms descending from above may be interpreted through archetypal frameworks as a canopy or protective covering that transforms from horizontal shelter into dynamic crystalline growth, suggesting organic processes of formation and crystallization while simultaneously demonstrating human capacity to shape natural materials into precise geometric expression. The wood veneer itself carries rich symbolic associations across cultural traditions, representing connection to natural cycles, warmth of dwelling and craft, and the transformation of living matter into enduring form through skilled intervention. The triadic color relationship established between golden wood tones, neutral gray, and sage green activates symbolic registers associated with earth elements, stability, and renewal, creating an environment that speaks simultaneously to permanence and growth. Linear light tracing the geometric edges functions as a symbolic delineation of structure, making visible the underlying order that organizes apparent complexity while suggesting pathways and connections. The pentagonal aperture admitting natural light introduces associations with celestial orientation and the integration of interior sanctuary with external world, while the reflective floor creates a doubling effect that suggests depth beneath surface and the mirror relationship between aspiration and foundation. The compositional progression from intimate seating area through dramatic overhead display toward functional reception embodies archetypal journey from rest through transformation toward engagement, positioning visitors as participants in a narrative of material appreciation and aesthetic discovery.

A mix of segregation and connectivity. Keeping the openness of the floor intact, all feature elements are strategically planed to create series of discussion pockets. The store is designed on fractal behavior that explores the concept for sequencing the space that is both immersive and sculptural. The space promotes a very strong sense of design while leaving a stage for the products that are being displayed.
