Seasun Interior Design

HEY Corp.'s Seasun Interior Design deploys a sophisticated vocabulary of spatial and material symbols that communicate layered meanings about contemporary hospitality, creative work culture, and the integration of play within professional environments. The dominant ceiling grid of black linear elements references industrial architectural heritage while its warm amber interstices suggest the penetration of natural warmth into constructed space, encoding a dialogue between the mechanical and the organic that pervades contemporary design discourse. The lip-shaped seating elements function as particularly rich signifiers, their biomorphic form evoking the Pop Art legacy of artists who transformed everyday objects and body parts into monumental statements, while their rocking function suggests regression to childhood comfort and the creative value of playful movement. The chromatic program operates through deliberate temperature contrast: the cool grays and blacks of the architectural envelope represent rationality, professionalism, and urban sophistication, while the warm vermillions, ambers, and golds scattered through furnishings and lighting represent vitality, creativity, and emotional warmth. The sunflower motif appearing on cushions carries traditional solar symbolism of life force, optimism, and turning toward light, while its circular form echoes the completeness and unity traditionally associated with the mandala. The translucent orange partition functions as threshold marker, its colored transparency suggesting the permeability between work and play zones while maintaining visual connection. The panoramic glazing establishes the archetypal relationship between shelter and prospect, offering the psychological security of enclosure while providing visual access to distant horizons that suggests possibility and expansion. The material hierarchy moves from heavy and grounded concrete flooring through transitional textile elements to the ethereal ceiling system, encoding an ascent from earth toward light.

This project is an office design for Seasun Games, a leading video game publisher in China. The designers use elements of anime, vibrant colors and diverse ways of interaction to highlight the role of Seasun as a game developer and its corporate culture and spirit while creating an efficient, comfortable and healthy working environment for its employees.
