SZHK Science and Technology Project High Rise Office

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2023

Aedas's High Rise Office encodes within its architectural iconography a rich vocabulary of aspirational and technological symbolism that speaks to contemporary values of innovation, progress, and corporate achievement. The vertical emphasis dominating the composition draws upon ancient symbolic associations between height and transcendence, connecting earthbound human endeavor with celestial aspiration through the archetypal image of the tower reaching toward heaven. The deep vertical incisions articulating the primary tower's facade may be interpreted as symbolic channels conveying energy and vitality upward, perhaps evoking traditional imagery of life force flowing through architectural form. The warm bronze-amber materiality carries connotations of precious metals and technological refinement, suggesting alchemical transformation of raw materials into expressions of cultural value. The white vertical fins introduce symbolic associations with purity, clarity, and forward-looking optimism, creating chromatic dialogue between earthen grounding and ethereal aspiration. The curvilinear podium structure activates archetypal associations with organic flow, natural forms, and the integration of human creation with environmental rhythms. The twin tower configuration evokes traditional symbolism of duality, balance, and complementary forces working in harmony, while their differing formal expressions suggest unity within diversity. The atmospheric rendering at golden hour carries its own temporal symbolism, capturing that threshold moment between day and evening that traditionally represents transition, transformation, and liminal possibility. The ascending forms against the illuminated sky create what might be understood as contemporary expressions of the axis mundi, connecting terrestrial commercial function with broader cosmological ordering principles that have animated monumental architecture across cultural traditions.

This development is an important research and development exchange area and the gateway between Shenzhen and Hongkong. This project is committed to creating a central hub in the Science and Technology Innovation Zone with international exchanges and regional integration. This project is intended to create a 24-hour living circle that includes living, leisure, and working spaces, combined with some special activity nodes, like a community health center, treehouse bookshop, game center, and art center.
