Abbas Sufinejad's Stoniture Sofa functions as a powerful symbolic statement within the visual language of contemporary furniture design, its uninterrupted flowing form encoding meanings of continuity, wholeness, and organic integration that resonate with archetypal human desires for shelter and embrace. The biomorphic silhouette recalls primordial forms—perhaps a cupped palm, a protective shell, or the nurturing gesture of arms encircling—activating deep associations with safety, maternal comfort, and return to elemental sources of human security. The choice of warm ivory upholstery carries symbolic weight across cultural traditions: cream and white suggest purity, clarity, and potential, while the particular warmth of this hue adds associations with nourishment, organic materials, and domesticity as sacred space. The continuous unbroken line of the design's profile speaks to philosophical concepts of unity and non-duality, rejecting the fragmentation of conventional furniture into discrete components in favor of holistic integration that might be read as commentary on interconnectedness. Placement within a classical architectural context creates meaningful dialogue between permanence and fluidity, tradition and innovation—the rigid geometric frames of wall paneling contain yet cannot constrain the organic form's gentle rebellion against orthogonal convention. The accompanying botanical element introduces symbolic layers of growth, vitality, and the eternal cycle of living systems, its deep green complementing the cultivated neutrality of the designed environment. The gestural abstract artwork positioned above creates vertical symbolic axis suggesting aspiration or transcendence, its dynamic marks echoing the sofa's own frozen gesture. The woven planter basket introduces craft tradition and natural material authenticity that grounds the composition in handmade heritage. Through the integration of sculptural furniture, living plants, artistic expression, and classical architectural frame, this composition constructs a contemporary domestic altar celebrating human creativity's capacity to transform functional necessity into contemplative beauty.
Stoniture is a nature-inspired sofa that evokes a sense of familiarity and trust with natural stone. The designer aimed to create a furniture piece that feels like a part of nature, with a simple design and a curved edge for comfort. It has a wooden body structure with 30-density foam in its seat and measures 110 x 95 x 50 cm. The main challenge was to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing design that captures the essence of natural stone while meeting practical needs. Stoniture is a unique and perfect addition to any nature-inspired living space.
