PEDIATRIC CLINICS INTERIOR DESIGN

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2024

The symbolic language encoded within Caline Morcos Interiors' Al Moosa Pediatric Clinics Interior Design operates through sophisticated deployment of archetypal forms and chromatic associations that speak to fundamental human needs for safety, growth, and wonder during vulnerable life moments. The biomorphic chair forms function as transitional objects, their creature-like silhouettes activating childhood animistic imagination while their embracing curves suggest protective containment reminiscent of nurturing arms or protective shells. Yellow as the dominant accent carries solar symbolism associated across cultures with vitality, optimism, and life force, its deployment in child-scale furniture grounding these associations at the level where young occupants directly engage. The abstracted tree installations invoke the axis mundi, the world tree archetype appearing across mythological traditions as connector between earthly and celestial realms, here domesticated into accessible play structures that nonetheless retain symbolic resonance of growth, shelter, and natural order. Cylindrical columns reference classical architectural vocabulary while their multicolored treatment transforms them from purely structural elements into a chromatic procession suggesting perhaps a journey or developmental progression through varied emotional states. The circular motif recurring throughout carries associations of wholeness, completion, and cosmic harmony, its repetition establishing visual coherence while activating archetypal satisfaction with enclosed forms. The overhead timber beam introduces threshold symbolism, marking transition between zones while its organic materiality provides grounding connection to natural world amidst designed environment. Pendant luminaires floating like celestial bodies create gentle hierarchy between earthly plane and aspirational heights above, their soft glow suggesting benevolent oversight. The overall spatial narrative constructs an environment encoding messages of safety within adventure, structure within playfulness, and professional care within nurturing warmth, achieving through design vocabulary what words might struggle to communicate to young patients navigating unfamiliar medical experiences.

The most beautiful place where reality seems completely unreal is a desert oasis. Patients and visitors are immersed into a dream-like environment safe and fascinating at the same time. A fun, creative and distracting space inspired by the desert oasis and mirage. Enchanting tree, sensory walls, peek a boo and mushroom pods are all elements stimulating the kid's curiosity and cognitive development. The floor curves mimic the movement of the wind on the sand dunes. The reflective ceiling blurs the space limits and reinforces the illusion effect; the floating spheres add a touch of poetry.
