Knitting And Dreaming Corporate Headquarter

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025

The orbital ceiling configuration in Yu Lo's Corporate Headquarter functions as a powerful spatial archetype, its concentric descending ellipses evoking cosmological imagery of celestial spheres, planetary orbits, or the metaphysical concept of emanation radiating from a generative center, thus positioning the enterprise within universal narratives of creative origin and cyclical renewal. The spiral form traditionally symbolizes growth, evolution, and the journey inward toward essential truth, suggesting that visitors entering this space undertake a form of threshold crossing into heightened awareness of craft tradition and contemporary innovation. The warm golden yellow and orange hues concentrated at the central cylindrical pavilion carry rich symbolic resonance across numerous cultural traditions: gold signifying illumination, wisdom, and enduring value; orange suggesting vitality, creativity, and the transformative energy of fire, collectively encoding the exhibition space as a vessel of both heritage preservation and dynamic enterprise. The faceted angular surface treatment of this focal element evokes crystalline formation, suggesting that knowledge and craft tradition become concentrated and refined through institutional dedication, each angled plane potentially representing different perspectives or achievements that together compose corporate identity. The lattice screen structure translates the fundamental textile operation of interlacing threads into architectural scale, transforming the warp and weft of fabric production into spatial experience, thus encoding the organization's industrial identity into the very walls that define its headquarters. The highly reflective floor surface creates a mirror-world doubling of the overhead installation, suggesting correspondence between aspiration and foundation, vision and grounding, the ethereal and the material. This doubling may evoke the relationship between dream and reality referenced in the design's title, positioning the space as a threshold where imaginative possibility and practical enterprise merge into unified experience.

The corporate headquarters interior design project pays homage to the company's origins of producing Velcro tapes. The design team drew inspiration from the fabric elements of Velcro tapes and the concept of weaving, which serves as the central theme of the design. The design features a beautiful interplay of patterns and textures that intricately weave the product's essence into the space. These design elements are seamlessly integrated into the ceiling, floor, and walls of the building, creating a cohesive and harmonious environment.
