Hua Chenyu Mars Concert Sunrise Version Stage

Golden A' Design Award Winner 2025

The orchestration of circular geometry suspended above the performance space activates profound archetypal associations with celestial bodies, cosmic order, and the sacred canopy that traditionally marks spaces of ritual significance across human cultures. Concentric ring forms universally symbolize completeness, eternal return, and the cyclical nature of time, while their suspended position above the earthbound performer suggests the relationship between terrestrial existence and celestial aspiration that pervades mythological and spiritual traditions worldwide. The eight vertical columns supporting this celestial apparatus may evoke numerological associations with regeneration and new beginnings, as eight traditionally represents resurrection and cosmic balance in various symbolic systems. The brilliant white light portal at the composition's heart functions as a threshold symbol, a liminal passage between ordinary and extraordinary states that performance rituals across cultures seek to create, inviting interpretation as a doorway to transcendence or transformed consciousness. The chromatic dominance of violet-blue carries associations with twilight transitions, spiritual contemplation, and the liminal space between day and night, between known and mysterious, reinforcing the transformative aspirations of the stage environment. The contrast between industrial truss materiality and ethereal atmospheric effects embodies a productive tension between technological rationality and ineffable experience, suggesting that contemporary ritual spaces achieve their power through synthesis rather than opposition of these forces. The solitary figure positioned before the luminous portal activates the archetypal hero at threshold, the individual standing between worlds as intermediary between collective audience and transcendent experience. Warm audience lights scattered below like terrestrial stars create symbolic mirroring with the celestial apparatus above, suggesting the concert experience as a moment when heaven and earth achieve temporary alignment through shared aesthetic communion.

The stage adopts a miniature four sided design, offering a broader view and supporting interactive performances. The extended platform, featuring a large circular structure, enhances immersion and symbolizes the connection between the artist and the audience. In the fourth section, a circular installation surrounds the stage, evoking a journey of departure, exploration, and return.
