The soaring white lattice canopy of Peng Guo's stage design functions as a powerful symbolic threshold between earthly gathering and celestial aspiration, its organic branching forms evoking the archetypal World Tree that connects terrestrial and cosmic realms across numerous cultural traditions, the skeletal openwork pattern suggests simultaneous protection and permeability, sheltering the gathered community while maintaining visual connection to sky and surroundings in a manner reminiscent of sacred grove symbolism where dappled light filters through natural canopy, the biomorphic quality of the structure activates associations with primordial sea creatures and coral formations, potentially encoding themes of origin and emergence as audiences gather beneath forms suggestive of life's oceanic beginnings, the pristine white coloration carries traditional associations with purity transcendence and spiritual elevation while also functioning within contemporary design semiotics as signifier of technological sophistication and forward-looking innovation, the juxtaposition with the traditional sailing vessel in the background creates rich symbolic dialogue between heritage and futurity, suggesting continuity of human creative ambition across temporal boundaries, the vessel's upright masts echo the vertical aspirations of the canopy's supporting members in a visual rhyme connecting maritime exploration traditions with contemporary spatial experimentation, numerologically the multiple supporting legs and the gathering of thousands invoke themes of community multiplicity and collective identity unified beneath singular protective shelter, the overall spatial allegory presents a vision of contemporary ritual gathering where technology serves to enhance rather than replace the fundamental human need for shared experience within architecturally defined sacred space
In preparation for a unique music event, the design features three innovative stage structures, creating an engaging experience for the audience. The stage adapts to the vibrant atmosphere of the daytime and harmonizes with the natural surroundings at night. To meet the acoustic requirements of the extended platform, the team worked collaboratively to integrate the sound system into the stage design, ensuring optimal audio performance.
