Bronze A' Design Award Winner 2025
Architectural form language here establishes meaning through the dialectic between systematic order and strategic disruption, the horizontal banding that dominates Minzui Innovation co., ltd.'s Mixed Use Building functions simultaneously as practical construction rationalization allowing efficient repetition of standardized residential floor plates and as visual rhetoric communicating stability, repose, and earthbound horizontality that counterbalances the vertical thrust inherent to tower typology, this rhythmic stratification evokes geological sedimentation or the incremental accretion of urban dwelling layers suggesting that residential architecture at density accumulates through patient addition rather than singular dramatic gesture, the deep shadow recesses between bands create liminal threshold zones neither fully interior nor exterior suggesting the contemporary dwelling's negotiation between privacy and openness, enclosure and prospect, the recessed balconies function symbolically as mediating membranes where inhabitants can occupy an in-between condition experiencing urban atmosphere while maintaining spatial separation from the street, the predominantly neutral material palette of warm beiges and cool grays carries multiple cultural resonances including associations with natural materials like limestone or travertine suggesting permanence and material honesty, with understated elegance communicating refinement through restraint rather than ostentation, with contextual sensitivity allowing the building to recede into the urban fabric as harmonious background rather than demanding foreground attention, the strategic deployment of the vermillion-orange accent volume at the roofline operates as architectural punctuation mark transforming what might otherwise read as indefinite vertical continuation into composed terminus, this chromatic gesture carries symbolic weight as vermillion traditionally signals importance, celebration, or sacred threshold across numerous cultural traditions while orange suggests energy, creativity, and optimism, the placement at the uppermost register may encode hierarchical meaning suggesting the penthouse condition as distinct from standardized floors below or may indicate communal amenity space serving as social apex, the cantilevered geometric complexity of the roofline elements suggests formal liberation from the disciplined repetition below as if rational residential order gives way to expressive architectural gesture at the building's crown, the interplay between opacity and transparency across the façade encodes the contemporary dwelling's dual requirements for both protective enclosure providing thermal comfort, acoustic separation, and visual privacy, and for permeability allowing natural light, ventilation, and visual connection to urban context, the building's frontal presentation and symmetrical near-balance suggest confident urban presence addressing the street and viewer directly rather than turning away, while the asymmetrical placement of accent elements and the irregular roofline prevent the composition from becoming static or authoritarian, the vertical proportions of the structure reference the tower archetype with its ancient associations with aspiration, achievement, surveillance, and urban dominance, yet the horizontal articulation domesticates this verticality suggesting dwelling stack rather than monumental tower, the precision of material junctions and the crispness of geometric boundaries communicate construction quality and design intentionality suggesting that care has been invested in the building's realization, the structure's negotiation between repetition and variation might be interpreted as architectural metaphor for urban dwelling itself wherein individual units share systematic organization yet maintain potential for distinct inhabitation and personal identity.
The project centers on creating a stylish lifestyle that meets the needs of modern people and aims to convey an iconic aesthetic and atmosphere. In addition to the customized tiles, the design team also cut the tiles at the corners of the facade at a 45 degree angle. To make the project no stereotypical, they applied asymmetrical forms to achieve harmonious proportions precisely. Surrounded by greenery, the high quality art community brings the quality of life to a new level.
