Circular forms permeating Cüneyt Darı's architectural screens embody archetypal wholeness and celestial perfection, their repetitive presence throughout the Quattro Beach Spa Resort Hotel lobby creating visual mantras that suggest continuous cycles of welcome and departure fundamental to hospitality rituals across cultures. The white coloration of the structural elements carries traditional associations with purity, clarity, and transcendence, establishing the lobby as threshold space between exterior mundane realms and interior sanctuary, a liminal zone marking transition into environments of rest and renewal. Ceiling medallions painted in turquoise, gold, and coral reference decorative traditions spanning Byzantine mosaic programs and Ottoman architectural embellishment, their placement at zenith positions invoking cosmological symbolism where decorated ceilings traditionally represent celestial canopies sheltering earthly activities below. The verde antico marble flooring with its deep green tonality and organic veining patterns grounds the space through material connection to geological time and natural processes, its reflective surface creating doubling effects that suggest worlds mirrored and multiplied, threshold between seen and unseen realms. Hexagonal brass lanterns suspended throughout the space invoke traditional lamp forms found across Mediterranean and Middle Eastern traditions, their warm illumination suggesting hospitality's ancient association with providing light to travelers arriving from darkness. The tufted Chesterfield-style seating references European furniture heritage while its arrangement in intimate groupings creates spaces for conversation and human connection, archetypal gathering circles within the larger architectural framework. The overall spatial composition establishes hierarchies through scale relationships where human figures appear appropriately proportioned against generous architectural volumes, neither diminished nor aggrandized, suggesting democratic welcome extended equally to all who enter this carefully orchestrated threshold environment.
At Ouattro Beach Spa Resort Hotel, we examined all the cities of France that bear traces of Romanesque influences. The details were inspired by the elegant facades of French streets and Roman arches. Inspired by the monasteries and Notre Dame cathedrals in France, we combined durability and dynamism in this project. The space is a masterpiece inspired by the smells of fresh bread and bakeries we encountered while traveling in France. It offers a unique and inviting atmosphere with its natural features and fine details.
