River House Residential

Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025

The architectural vocabulary of River House Residential operates through symbolic registers that speak to fundamental human aspirations for sanctuary, prospect, and harmonious dwelling within nature. The elevated position of the primary living volume may be interpreted as enacting an archetypal desire for overview and mastery, positioning inhabitants above the landscape to survey their domain while remaining sheltered within protective geometric forms. The color symbolism of white architecture against green landscape activates associations of purity, clarity, and transcendence emerging from organic natural contexts, suggesting the cultivation of refined consciousness from earthly abundance. The presence of water in multiple manifestations carries rich symbolic resonance, with the cerulean pool representing the contained and civilized aquatic element while the natural river beyond embodies the flowing temporal dimension of existence. The horizontal emphasis throughout the composition may be understood as expressing values of groundedness, stability, and connection to earth even while achieving lightness through cantilever and transparency. Threshold spaces proliferate throughout the design, with deep verandas and shaded transitional zones marking the passage between interior refuge and exterior engagement, enacting the archetypal crossing between private and public realms. The integration of mature specimen trees within the geometric order suggests respect for natural time and organic growth within human spatial ordering. The aerial perspective from which we view this dwelling positions us as contemplating an idealized model of domestic existence, inviting meditation on what constitutes the good life lived in thoughtful relationship with landscape, water, and sky.

The River House offers a breathtaking view of the Chao Phraya River with a design focused on family living. It includes a pavilion, spacious living room, swimming pool, lounge, bedrooms, and sports area. The grand living room seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces with strategically placed columns supporting a 12 meter cantilever structure. This design utilizes sliding doors to extend the space by 20 meter which opens to a terrace and an infinity pool, providing an uninterrupted river view.
