Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2025
Alibaba Cloud's Data Visualization installation operates within the symbolic tradition of cartographic knowledge systems, where the aerial perspective has long represented comprehensive understanding and authoritative overview, inviting viewers into a position of enlightened spatial awareness. The isometric rendering methodology carries deep cultural resonance, echoing classical architectural illustration traditions where parallel projection maintained equal importance across all depicted elements, suggesting democratic spatial relationships rather than hierarchical perspectival diminishment. The chromatic architecture of the system employs color as a sophisticated symbolic language where verdant greens invoke concepts of growth, vitality, and organic life, terracotta and sienna tones suggest permanence, craft tradition, and connection to earth materials, while the flowing blue water element represents movement, continuity, and life-giving circulation through the institutional body. The information panel color-coding system functions as a modern pictographic language, with warm coral suggesting arrival and human warmth, cool mint evoking freshness and learning, and amber highlighting points of particular significance like illuminated markers on an ancient navigation chart. The rhythmic timber ceiling above the installation creates an environmental frame that symbolically bridges natural material heritage with technological innovation, suggesting that this digital interface grows organically from crafted traditions rather than opposing them. The presence of moving human figures captured in blur speaks to the temporal dimension of spatial experience, suggesting that understanding emerges through embodied movement rather than static contemplation alone, transforming the installation from mere information display into an invitation for participatory discovery and ongoing spatial relationship.
This system, integrated with 3D GIS and real-time rendering technology, has constructed a visualization system that combines natural aesthetics with modern design. The 18 meter long interactive large screen, equipped with AI, responds to different solar terms and festivals, changing digital scenes to create an immersive reading experience. The application of 3D simulation and digital twin technology enhances the user interaction experience. This design not only promotes cultural exchange but also reflects the innovation and progress of the library in the process of intelligent development.
