Architectural form language in Babak Eslahjou's M1 and M2 Multi Residential House operates through a sophisticated vocabulary of horizontal stratification and vertical aspiration that activates archetypal associations with geological time, natural formation, and human ascent, the stepped massing configuration evokes sedimentary rock strata accumulated over epochs suggesting permanence and deep temporal grounding while simultaneously referencing ziggurat typologies and stepped pyramids that across cultures symbolize spiritual ascent and connection between earthly and celestial realms, the alternating rhythm of solid and transparent bands creates a binary visual code that may be read as the fundamental architectural dialogue between enclosure and opening, privacy and prospect, shelter and light, the warm amber glazing capturing golden hour illumination transforms functional window surfaces into symbolic thresholds where exterior light penetrates interior sanctuary, the chromatic temperature contrast between cool silvered panels and warm golden glass establishes a material dialogue between the rational precision of contemporary construction and the organic warmth of domestic inhabitation, the aerial viewpoint positions the viewer in a privileged elevated perspective traditionally associated with contemplation, overview, and comprehensive understanding, the tower's vertical dominance within the surrounding horizontal suburban fabric reinforces archetypal associations between verticality and aspiration, achievement, and transcendence, the number and rhythm of horizontal divisions create visual music suggesting temporal passage and accumulated experience, the golden hour illumination serves as universal symbol of transition, threshold, and the precious quality of fleeting moments, the overall composition celebrates human capacity to create ordered beauty that harmonizes technical achievement with poetic expression and domestic nurturing.
At its core, M City is designed to deliver a world class urban experience that prioritizes walkability, livability and a strong public realm. The community is anchored by M1 and M2, two landmark towers that serve as a dramatic eastern gateway to the city center. The towers, intended as the highest part of the whole M City development, will have a unique geometry that redefines Mississauga's skyline and befitting its role as a beacon for the entire area. Its characteristic undulating geometric presence is a series of twisted horizontal bands that form the entire shaft of the tower.
