Golden A' Design Award Winner 2025
Within the symbolic vocabulary of spatial design, this interior environment operates as a carefully constructed liminal zone mediating between exterior nature and interior sanctuary through material, light, and form. The paired spherical woven sculptures at the compositional heart carry archetypal associations with wholeness, completion, and cosmic unity, their circular geometry traditionally representing heaven, eternity, and cyclical renewal across numerous cultural traditions. The deliberate doubling of these forms may evoke themes of balance, partnership, and harmonious duality, while their warm golden coloring suggests solar energy, prosperity, and life-giving warmth counterbalancing the cooler architectural envelope surrounding them. The elaborate timber lattice overhead functions symbolically as a constructed firmament, its rhythmic linear patterns creating an ordered cosmos while the penetrating skylights allow celestial light to enter the human realm below. The decorative perforated screen employing scale-like patterns carries potential associations with protective embodiment, perhaps referencing serpentine or aquatic symbolism suggesting transformation, fluidity, and the integration of elemental forces. The mirror-perfect floor reflections encode meanings of contemplation, self-knowledge, and the doubling of reality that invites meditation on surface versus depth, appearance versus essence. The visible garden realm beyond the screen suggests paradise, natural abundance, and the eternal spring of cultivated nature, positioned tantalizingly accessible yet mediated through the architectural membrane. The overall spatial sequence from bright exterior through filtered threshold into shadowed interior and back toward garden light creates a symbolic journey suggesting passage, transformation, and the movement between worldly and contemplative states. The monochromatic architectural palette of charcoal and graphite may be read as representing the material vessel that contains and protects the precious golden craft objects within, encoding values of shelter, refinement, and the elevation of artisanal beauty within architectural embrace.
Yiwu Greentown is located in the core area of Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, China. The success of the Yiwu Greentown Fengqi Chaoming project lies not only in its exquisite design skills and unique aesthetic perspective, but also in its profound understanding and respect for regional culture, as well as its precise grasp of modern lifestyle. This project not only adds a scenery to Yiwu City, but also sets a new benchmark in the field of spatial design, demonstrating the possibility of balancing inheritance and innovation in spatial design.
