Golden A' Design Award Winner 2025
The spatial symbolism of Yongna Sheng's Rose Garden Sales Office operates through carefully layered visual metaphors that transform commercial function into meaningful experiential narrative. The overhead stained glass dome functions as a contemporary celestial canopy, its circular form invoking archetypal associations with cosmic wholeness, protection, and sacred enclosure while its floral patterning connects to universal botanical symbolism of growth, beauty, and natural abundance. The radial symmetry emanating from the dome's center establishes what might be understood as a sacred geometry of welcome, positioning visitors beneath a protective bower that references both conservatory traditions and the rose windows of devotional architecture, though here translated into secular hospitality. The rose motif itself carries rich symbolic weight across cultures as an emblem of beauty, cultivation, and refined appreciation, suggesting that this threshold space honors visitors as worthy of such considered aesthetic attention. The circular seating arrangement below creates what spatial psychology might term a communal hearth configuration, its curved forms encouraging face-to-face interaction while maintaining connection to the protective dome above, establishing a sense of gathering under shared shelter. The warm amber and gold chromatic accents throughout invoke associations with sunlight, honey, and precious metals, colors traditionally associated with warmth, welcome, and valued exchange. The dark marble flooring grounds this elevated atmosphere with material solidity, its veined patterns suggesting natural geological processes and enduring substance. The illuminated floral medallion on the focal wall functions as a kind of domestic altar or welcoming icon, its warm glow creating destination and visual reward. The vertical rhythm of the wall panels suggests classical architectural order while their soft texture moderates formality with approachable warmth. Together, these elements construct a symbolic environment communicating that this threshold honors the visitor's arrival and promises a cultivated experience ahead.
In terms of spatial planning, the project adopts an open and smooth layout, which ensures the transparency of the space while balancing privacy and functionality. In terms of color matching, the designer cleverly used low saturation tones, combined with warm wooden elements and delicate stone textures, to create a warm and elegant living atmosphere. The selection of furniture and decorations is equally meticulous, with each piece carefully selected to meet modern aesthetics while preserving cultural heritage, adding artistic atmosphere and a touch of life to the entire space.
