Alexey Danilin's Level Pendant Lamp operates as a sophisticated meditation on verticality, ascension, and the archetypal symbolism of light as transformative presence, with its tiered glass construction evoking ancient ziggurat forms, ceremonial vessels, and the stepped pyramids that across numerous cultures have represented the connection between earthly and celestial realms. The chromatic progression from cooler, clearer tones at the apex toward warm amber radiance at the base may be interpreted as encoding a journey of materialization, where ethereal light descends and condenses into tangible golden presence, reversing yet honoring the traditional association of upward movement with spiritual elevation. The scalloped or castellated edge profiles activate associations with crown forms, fortification architecture, and the decorative vocabularies of Art Deco luxury, suggesting sovereignty over space and the transformation of functional objects into ceremonial presences. Glass itself carries profound symbolic weight as a material embodying paradox, being simultaneously solid and transparent, protective yet permeable, ancient in origin yet endlessly renewable through fire, the element that also produces light. The warm amber coloration resonates with honey, preserved sunlight, ancient resins, and the golden materials historically associated with solar worship, divine presence, and eternal preservation. The vertical stacking of graduated elements suggests accumulation, hierarchy, and the building of meaning through layered experience, while the bilateral symmetry communicates stability, order, and contemplative balance. The placement before reeded glass creates an interplay between clarity and obscurity, presence and veil, inviting consideration of how illumination functions not merely to reveal but to create atmospheric conditions that transform spatial experience into something approaching the numinous.
People often forget about their first impression. That is why a collection was created to emphasize the beauty of familiar places. For example, many people live in modern megacities, and they are initially impressed by modern architecture and urban landscape, but then it becomes familiar to them. The Level collection conveyed the beauty spirit of the big city. This was done thanks to multi level glass elements, vertical ornament and amber glass. The models have two Led light sources: Lower to illuminate the functional areas of the space and Upper to illuminate the decorative glass.
