Silver A' Design Award Winner 2025
Eleonora Federici's Ring operates as a meditation on cosmic duality rendered in precious materials, its paired crescents embodying the interpenetration of complementary forces that structures philosophical traditions across cultures. The crescent forms themselves carry lunar associations suggesting cyclical time, feminine energy, and the waxing and waning of all phenomena, their interlocking configuration proposing that apparent opposites exist in dynamic relationship rather than static opposition. The chromatic symbolism proves particularly resonant: rose gold's warm solar associations balance against the cool lunar reserve of oxidized dark metal, suggesting the marriage of day and night, active and receptive principles, warmth and coolness as necessary complements rather than antagonists. Pearl selection reinforces this symbolic architecture, the white pearl's traditional associations with purity, wisdom, and hidden treasure from the depths meeting the gray pearl's more mysterious connotations of sophistication and the integration of shadow. Diamonds scattered across the surfaces suggest stars or celestial light, their ability to capture and transform illumination speaking to the transmission of wisdom through material form. The continuous flowing gesture of the design, where neither element dominates but each makes space for the other, embodies principles of harmonious relationship central to meditative traditions and aesthetic philosophies emphasizing dynamic equilibrium. The number two appears as fundamental organizing principle, duality acknowledged and celebrated rather than resolved into false unity, the ring serving as tangible reminder that wholeness encompasses multiplicity. Worn upon the hand, this piece transforms the body into a site of philosophical statement, the wearer literally embodying balance through daily gesture and movement.
This ring reinterprets the classic bypass playing with asymmetry, curves, heights, and inclinations to challenge traditional symmetry while preserving balance and elegance. Inspired by the Yin and Yang concept, it embodies contrast and harmony. It features 18K white gold, Australian white pearl, gray Akoya pearl, colorless and gray diamonds. The black and white rhodium finish enhances this duality. Meticulously engineered for comfort, the design prevents rotation while creating a piece that interacts with the wearer, creating a constant play of light and shadow, evolving with every gesture.
