Aurzen Zip Tri Fold Portable Projector

Platinum A' Design Award Winner 2025

Form language in the Aurzen Design Team's projector operates through a sophisticated vocabulary of geometric purity and kinetic potential, where the tri-fold configuration evokes archetypal symbols of transformation, revelation, and unfolding possibility. The number three carries profound significance across cultural traditions—representing synthesis, dynamic equilibrium, and creative manifestation—and the device's three-panel architecture may be understood as embodying these principles through functional form. The ascending diagonal thrust of the deployed configuration suggests aspiration and forward momentum, while the hinge points function as symbolic thresholds between states of being, marking transitions from compact dormancy to active projection of light and imagery. The illuminated cyan lens operates as a luminous eye or portal, drawing upon deep-seated associations between light projection and consciousness, vision, and the transmission of knowledge. Blue light specifically carries connotations of clarity, technology, intelligence, and infinite horizon across numerous symbolic systems. The floating presentation against nebulous gradient ground evokes archetypal imagery of objects suspended between realms—neither fully grounded nor entirely celestial—suggesting the liminal status of portable technology that exists between fixed installation and pure mobility. The ventilation grilles introduce rhythmic repetition symbolizing breath and circulation, acknowledging the living thermal dynamics within technological objects. The inspirational inscription transforms the device from mere apparatus into meaningful artifact, embedding intentionality and human aspiration within industrial production.

Aurzen Zip was inspired by the Aurzen team's challenging camping projection experience, where poor network signals, unstable brackets, and cumbersome setups highlighted the need for improvement. The frustrating experience led to the creation of Zip's innovative tri-fold design and advanced projection technology. Compact and lightweight when folded, it’s perfect for travel, outdoor use, or home entertainment. One-click screen mirroring casts content without Wi-Fi. The built-in battery lasts 1.5 hours, and Type-C PD fast charging replenishes power quickly.
