Bronze A' Design Award Winner 2025
Within the spatial and material vocabulary of contemporary workplace architecture, the geometric ceiling intervention functions as the primary symbolic gesture, transforming utilitarian building systems into expressive architectural language that encodes multiple layers of organizational meaning and cultural aspiration, the intersecting linear light elements creating dynamic angular geometries that may be interpreted as visual metaphors for network connectivity, intersecting ideas, collaborative synthesis, and the non-hierarchical lattice structures characterizing contemporary organizational models that privilege lateral communication and distributed intelligence over traditional pyramidal command structures, the transparency saturating this environment through extensive glazing and open planning carries rich symbolic freight, suggesting organizational cultures that value visibility, accountability, accessibility, and the dissolution of status-based enclosure, the glass partitions paradoxically both separating and connecting zones, creating functional division while maintaining visual continuity, this duality encoding the contemporary workplace challenge of balancing collaboration with focus, openness with acoustic control, the color palette's cool neutral foundation establishing professional restraint and spatial continuity while the strategic deployment of saturated cobalt blue as vertical accent suggests innovation, technology, trust, and forward-looking orientation, blue across diverse cultural contexts often associated with intelligence, communication, stability, and corporate professionalism, particularly in technology and healthcare sectors, the introduction of living plant materials carrying biophilic symbolism, representing the integration of natural systems within built environments and perhaps signaling organizational concern for human wellbeing that extends beyond mere functional accommodation to encompass psychological and spiritual dimensions of workplace experience, plants traditionally symbolizing growth, renewal, vitality, and the ongoing cycles of natural life, their presence in professional environments suggesting values alignment with sustainability, environmental stewardship, and recognition of human evolutionary connection to natural forms, the integration of organizational mission statements directly into architectural surfaces through environmental graphics transforms walls into communicative interfaces, blurring boundaries between spatial enclosure and brand expression, this strategy suggesting transparent articulation of purpose and values, the text becoming semi-transparent overlay that simultaneously asserts meaning and maintains visual permeability, the modular furniture systems and open planning paradigm encoding egalitarian spatial politics where hierarchical distinction through enclosed offices gives way to democratic workspace allocation, though close analysis might reveal subtle status differentiations through workstation size, adjacency to windows, or access to enclosed meeting rooms, the geometric rigor governing all formal relationships, from lighting trajectories to furniture grids to material junctions, suggests organizational cultures that value precision, systematic thinking, optimization, and rational planning methodologies, the orthogonal planning grid representing order, efficiency, and the modernist legacy of universal spatial systems, the overall environmental quality, characterized by abundant diffused illumination and carefully controlled material palette, projects values of clarity, transparency, intellectual focus, and professional sophistication, the cool color temperature of lighting suggesting alertness and task orientation rather than warmth and relaxation, the space designed to support productivity and concentration, the transformation of functional ceiling lighting into sculptural installation perhaps suggesting organizational investment in environmental quality as meaningful expression of values rather than residual design consideration, elevating utilitarian building systems to the status of intentional aesthetic gesture and symbolic communication, the angular rather than curvilinear geometry of the lighting installation carrying connotations of precision, technology, contemporary aesthetics, and perhaps subtle dynamism within overall rational order, the layered transparency created through multiple glass planes generating spatial complexity that rewards sustained looking and may symbolize organizational depth, the multiple simultaneous readings available, the revelation of process and activity rather than concealment behind opaque barriers, this environmental strategy positioning the workspace as theater of organizational culture where activity remains visible and collective purpose enacted through observable daily practice within carefully designed spatial and material frameworks.
The office of Cell Resolutions, a leading regenerative medicine company, was designed with the concept of Geometric Clear. This concept created a space that conveys cleanliness and confidence, while allowing visitors to experience the potential of cellular structures. The bodies of living things are made up of organs made of different types of cells. The idea is expressed through a combination of geometric and clean elements. The addition of water, inspired by its vital role in cells, adds a stunning visual dimension to the design through the incorporation of colors.
