The central tree imagery functions as a powerful archetypal symbol appearing across numerous cultural traditions, representing life force, generational continuity, rootedness in place, and the organic passage of time that stands in contemplative counterpoint to human temporality. The backlit presentation transforms this botanical reference into something approaching the luminous, evoking associations with sacred groves, enlightenment imagery, and the tree as axis mundi connecting earthly and celestial realms. The paired feather sculptures introduce additional natural symbolism, where feathers traditionally suggest ascension, spiritual elevation, and the breath of life across diverse cultural contexts from ceremonial traditions to classical mythology. Their bronze materiality grounds these ethereal associations in earthly substance, creating productive tension between weight and lightness.
