The continuous loop armrest structure in Natalia Komarova's Infinity Armchair embodies the mathematical lemniscate transformed into tactile domestic experience, suggesting eternal return, cyclical comfort, and the philosophical concept of infinite continuity made manifest in upholstered form. The triadic presentation activates chromatic symbolism across cultural registers: the ultramarine variation channels historical associations with precious lapis lazuli, spiritual depth, and contemplative interiority; the central bicolored specimen suggests harmonious union of complementary forces through its marriage of cool and warm; while the cream-toned iteration evokes purity, natural materials, and elemental simplicity. The circular drum base carries archetypal resonance with wholeness, completion, and cosmic order, while its cylindrical volume grounds the ethereal arm loops in earthly stability. The concrete environment functions as deliberate counterpoint, its rectilinear grid and mineral hardness establishing a dialogue between nature and culture, softness and severity, organic growth and geometric construction. The stepped circular platforms suggest ceremonial presentation, elevating functional objects to contemplative status while their overlapping arrangement creates visual rhythm suggesting temporal sequence or hierarchical ordering. The infinity loop motif resonates with design philosophy emphasizing continuous experience, user journey as closed circuit, and the psychological comfort of forms without terminus or abrupt ending. The embrace gesture implicit in the sweeping arms suggests sanctuary, protection, and the archetypal significance of encirclement as safety, while the forward-facing openness maintains invitation rather than enclosure, balancing intimacy with accessibility in spatial and symbolic registers.
The main emphasis of the Infinity armchair design is made precisely on the backrest. It is the reference of the infinity symbol - an inverted figure of eight. It is as if it changes its shape when turning, setting the dynamics of the lines and recreating the infinity sign in several planes. The backrest is pulled together by several elastic bands that form an external loop, which also returns to the symbolism of the infinite cyclic of life and balance. An additional emphasis is placed on unique legs-skids that securely fix and support the side parts of the armchair just like clamps do.
