The braided leather handle functioning as primary carrying mechanism and visual crown speaks to deep cultural associations between leather craftsmanship and enduring quality, invoking equestrian traditions, artisanal heritage, and the tactile pleasures of handmade luxury goods that transcend merely functional considerations to address emotional and aspirational dimensions of ownership. The spherical vessel form carries ancient symbolic weight, suggesting wholeness, completion, and the feminine archetype through its curved containment, while simultaneously referencing the classical pomander, those pierced metal spheres once carried to ward off unpleasant odors and pestilence, thus connecting contemporary fragrance culture to centuries of aromatic tradition. Gold as material choice operates across multiple symbolic registers, communicating solar warmth, alchemical transformation, and incorruptible value while its reflective surfaces suggest illumination, revelation, and the precious nature of contents within. The deep black glass invokes night, mystery, depth, and the concealed, positioning fragrance as something intimate and personal rather than publicly displayed, a secret pleasure held close. The crescent collar form may suggest lunar symbolism, traditionally associated with feminine cycles, intuition, and transformation, while the twin cylindrical actuators introduce architectural verticality and perhaps subtle reference to classical column forms representing stability and elevated culture. The pendant tag functions as both practical identifier and symbolic anchor, grounding the otherwise ethereal fragrance promise in material presence while the flowing emblem suggests movement, breath, and the ephemeral dispersal of scent molecules into surrounding air. The leather backdrop establishes environmental context suggesting automotive luxury, fine accessories, and intimate spaces of personal indulgence, constructing a complete narrative world wherein the fragrance user inhabits realms of sophisticated taste and sensory refinement.
Challenge was to create a feminine perfume product and packaging for the GCC and African markets. Conceptualized from the visual narratives of woman’s obsession and desire, representation for fashion, class, and luxury was translated into the concept for this product along with the name "Bonita". Designers took inspiration from the Hobo handbag as a metaphor to tell the story of a woman’s obsession and desire.
